overview

What is an air ambulance?

In a broad sense, an air ambulance is any aircraft outfitted with special equipment necessary to transport injured or sick people, in both emergency and non-emergency situations, over distances or terrain where using a normal ground ambulance would be impractical or impossible. Use of an air ambulance, and related operations, is called an aeromedical operation. Similar to a normal ground ambulance, an air ambulance is equipped with common medical equipment - medication, ventilators, ECGs, monitoring units, CPR equipment, stretchers and extra equipment as necessary on a patient-by-patient basis. Here at Galore Jets we choose to only use the Learjet 60 (LR 60), a mid-size business jet, for air ambulance operations.

Why would a patient need an air ambulance?

  • Critical illness or injury where time is limited
  • Distance or terrain limits practical use of normal ground transportation
  • Injury or illness prevents commercial transportation
  • Injury or illness requires specialist care
  • Injury or illness while in a foreign country
  • Comfortable, reliable and quicker than other modes of transportation

We try to ease the financial burden by accepting all forms of payments, including all major credit cards, bank wire drafts, cash, cashiers checks and money orders.
